QLP Implementation Coordinator

I. JOB SUMMARY – full-TIME

Our ability as a community to achieve this vision relies on activating and aligning the tremendous wealth of skills, experience, and expertise of our residents, businesses and institutions. We are seeking a dynamic QLP Implementation Coordinator to help us engage and collaborate as a community, respectfully hold each other accountable to our commitments, and speak with one voice to bring new partnerships and resources that support our vision.

The QLP Implementation Coordinator will serve as organizer, relationship-builder and convener of QLP leadership, a project manager for plan goals, timelines and actions, and communication manager to ensure community members and potential partners and resource providers stay up-to-date on plan progress and goals.

We are seeking an experienced individual to lead this work, reporting jointly to the three convening agencies known as the South Shore Compact which consist of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, South Shore Works and the Neighborhood Network Alliance.

II.  Key Responsibilities:

  • Carefully build relationships and identify new local leadership as part of the Quality-of-Life Planning (QLP) effort, tapping emerging leadership potential and helping potential leaders grow into roles through the plan. This focuses on an existing group of QLP Implementation Leadership, but includes identifying and recommending any strong leaders whose addition could better move the QLP vision forward.

  • Meet regularly with local institutional, business and resident leaders to continuously relate QLP progress and goals to the interests of people they represent who live, work or otherwise engage in the community. Work with existing and emerging networks to ensure those engaged in the community are aware of the plan and involved as much as they are willing and able in its implementation through membership in committees and/or leadership of specific projects. Maintain ongoing documentation of who is currently engaged and potential leaders and institutions to approach who could build the power of the QLP to reach our vision.

  • Plan and facilitate community meetings, forums, and public events as required to advance the broader vision and momentum of the QLP, with the support of The South Shore Compact, QLP leadership and technical assistance from LISC and/or other TA providers. This includes planning and carrying out logistics for major QLP meetings, events and relevant activities.

  • Create a written governance document that includes roles and responsibilities, values, organizational structure, meeting cadence and other protocols identified as important by each QLP committee.

  • Support committee chairs and other leaders in the QLP process to lead their committees to consensus, set shorter-term goals, take action on and track progress towards completion. Design and facilitate meetings and/or other processes for committee chairs and other QLP Implementation Leadership as a whole to regularly review and reflect on progress and hold each other accountable.

  • Develop meeting schedule coordination, meeting reminders, distribution of pre and post-meeting review materials, and appropriate follow-up correspondence. Meeting coordination will cover steering committee and all focus-area committees.

  • Help to develop timelines and strategies for planned projects and initiatives for each committee.

  • Communicate regularly through social media or other broad channels to engage a wide range of community residents and stakeholders. Create and adapt a communications strategy to identify opportunities for additional involvement within the community while highlighting wins and building a sense of momentum for audiences within and beyond the community. While the QLP Implementation Coordinator works for and represents The South Shore Compact they must also always accurately represent the entire QLP leadership when communicating on their behalf.

  • Research and meet with potential funders or other outside partners who might support QLP goals, helping to make introductions and facilitate stronger relationships with other leaders across the QLP implementing specific projects or programs.

  • Meet regularly with LISC staff and potentially other TA providers for advice, tools and other support needed. Participate in meetings, events and other opportunities through LISC or other citywide networks for peer learning on QLP implementation.

  • Create and manage a cloud-based knowledge library of all QLP projects and documents, including but not limited to resources, research documents, meeting material, contact lists and all regulatory meeting documents.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
