"Distinctly South Shore" 71st Street Art Festival

The Art Program that launched in October of 2011 showcased artwork from over 15 participants and is available in over twenty store fronts down 71st Street. South Shore Chamber hosted a reception for the artists who participated and for the community to meet the men and women who are bringing a new ambiance to 71st Street. The successful event included entertainment and refreshments, as well as displayed other pieces of artwork from the artist. The reception took place in October for acknowledgement of October being National Artist Month.

SSA #42 is proud to recreate its Newsletter to keep all its vendors and retailers aware and conscious about the events and resources that are available through the SSA, as well as South Shore Chamber, Inc. South Shore Chamber is under a new direction with Teyonda Wertz as the Executive Director, Allyson Scrutchens as the SSA Program Manager, and Ciera Whitaker as the Office Manager. This staff is dedicated to the continued improvement and business success in South Shore. This quarterly newsletter will ensure that all retailers and residents are aware of matters pertaining to the South Shore community and the SSA. SSA #42 is dedicated to the enhancement of the 71st/Stony Island business corridor by assessing and assuring that the needs of the business owners and their clientele are being met on a daily basis.
